2026 WALKING FOOTBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2026 WALKING FOOTBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS were held in Brisbane at the end of May. A number of CBWF players were involved in the competition but a particular mention to Connie and Jason who represented the victorious Australian male over 45 side as well as Robbie, Alan, Louis, Peter D and Peter W who were part of the Australian male over 75 world champion winning side.
CELEBRATING WOMEN IN FOOTBALL
On Monday 11 May 2026 we celebrated WOMEN IN FOOTBALL WEEK with our very first all-female walking football session. Well done to everyone involved who played through a torrential rain storm - but were still smiling at the end.
2026 QUEENSLAND WALKING FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Coolum Beach Walking Football Club participated in the 2026 Queensland Walking Football Championships held at NUDGEE in April. Our Men's OVER 50 team performed exceptionally well, coming second in their competition, only losing in the final on a penalty shootout. The Men's OVER 60 side were not as successful but live to fight another day. Our MIXED team contained many players making their first appearance at a walking football tournament and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The Men's OVER 70 team reached the semi final stage but suffered the same fate as the Over 50's - losing out in a penalty shootout.
2026 WALKING FOOTBALL FESTIVAL
Join us for a weekend of camaraderie, competition, and fun in September 2026, here on the Sunshine Coast, for the annual Sunshine Coast Walking Football Festival. This year the festival will be held over two days.
The traditional Sunshine Coast Cup will be held on Saturday 19 September at Coolum FC grounds and we have added an optional second day on Sunday 20 September at Mooloolah Valley.
In addition, pre-tournament welcome drinks will be held at Coolum Beer Company, late afternoon on Friday 18 September. More details of the 2026 Sunshine Coast Walking Football can be found at:
CHANGE OF ADDRESS
The Coolum Beach Walking Football Management Committee have made a decision to move weekly walking football sessions from the Coolum Baptist Church grounds to Coolum FC, just up the road.
The new premises at Coolum FC offer excellent lighting as well as recently renovated change rooms, showers and toilet facilities. Weekly sessions will still be held at 5.30 pm on Monday nights for a modest fee of $5 per player.
COOLUM BEACH WALKING FOOTBALL BECOMES INCORPORATED
We are proud to announce that we are now an Incorporated Body under the Association Incorporations Act 1981.

Well done to the Coolum Beach Walking Football mixed social team who (with the aid of a few ring ins) competed in an international walking football competition in BALI. Our club has now competed in international tournaments in Thailand, New Zealand and Indonesia. This is the way forward for our club with further opportunities to compete overseas to follow.

On the 29 August 2025 Coolum Beach Walking Football members attended CPR Training provided by NOOSA FIRST AID at the RSL Coolum-Pergegian RSL sub branch. A big thank you to the Sunshine Coast Council Grants Program for providing funds for our CPR Training Day and replacement DEFIB battery.

On the 16th August, we hosted the 2025 Sunshine Coast Walking Football Festival involving a record number of 25 teams that came from all over Australia including Sydney, Ballina, Brisbane as well as fellow Sunshine Coast club - Mooloolah Valley.
